Data Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics (OEWS). Percentile calculations based on official salary distribution data for 800+ occupations across all 50 states.

How This Works

This calculator compares your salary against official Bureau of Labor Statistics data for your specific job title and location. Unlike self-reported salary sites (which can be inaccurate), we use data from the largest compensation survey in the United States — covering 1.2 million establishments.

What does the percentile mean?If you're in the 70th percentile, you earn more than 70% of people in the same role. The 50th percentile is the median — half earn more, half earn less.

Is being below median bad?Not necessarily. Experience, certifications, company size, and specialization all affect pay. Entry-level workers will naturally be below median. But if you're experienced and still below the 25th percentile, it may be time to negotiate or explore new opportunities.
